Throughout Cheryl Crawford’s life, it has always been a combination of music (her avocation) and accounting (her vocation).  She spent many years as an instrumentalist, mostly as a bassoonist, before taking up voice at the encouragement of her friend, Lorraine.  Since those early years in church choir, she has performed with many of the groups in town including Juneau Lyric Opera (JLO), Opera to Go, Perseverance Theatre, and the Juneau Bach Society.  Some of her favorite roles have been as the Mother in King Island Christmas, Mrs. Potts in Beauty and the Beast, and as a soloist in JLO’s high teas.  She’s also looking forward to channeling Katisha in The Mikado this spring with JLO.  But for now, she’s excited to play a woman who finds treasures everywhere---Frugola in Il Tabarro.  Many thanks to those who have helped her get ready for this production including Dr. John d’Armand, Janis Capelle, Dr. Byron McGilvray, and last, but not least, her very understanding husband, Brett (aka Luigi).
