Derrick Grimes has been involved with the Juneau music community for as long as he can remember but only started formal music study under Dr. John d'Armand in 2002 and has maintained semi-regular lessons with Dr. d'Armand since. A life long resident of Juneau, Derrick sings at every opportunity he gets, in performances ranging from cabaret to opera. Most of his classical experience has involved performing with school and community choruses, such as Bach Society, as well as occasional chorus parts with Juneau Lyric Opera and Opera to Go, he made his debut character role as Rodolfo in JLO's La Boheme in the fall of 2011. Derrick is looking forward to his light hearted role as the Gameskeeper for OTG's Rusalka and the opportunity to bring some smiles to the faces of our audiences!
