Joe is delighted to join the Opera To Go team as Lighting Designer for Rusalka. As an award-winning veteran of the live event industry with a wide range of past clients, Joe wants to bring to “light” a slightly different creative perspective for OTG’s Rusalka. After years of “extreme, over the top” productions for International Corporate & Political Leaders, Olympic & World Cup Events, Financial, Medical, & Scientific World Summits, Film & Television Projects, and Entertainment Headliners with all the latest and greatest cutting edge technology, Joe would like to return to the first and best design philosophy he knows – KISS.

Joe “semi-retired” in early 2011 and returned to Juneau as Thunder Mountain High School’s Theater Manager and Advisor. “All my industry friends thought I was nuts when I left”, says Joe. “I told them, it doesn’t matter how many times you  amaze audience members with corporate razzle-dazzle and every trick you had up your sleeve, that sense of creative accomplishment IS NOTHING compared to the awesome sight of a young person’s face who just realized he can make a live audience cry, laugh, or ponder though their own creativity”.

Joe and his wife Holly have enjoyed reconnecting with old friends, making new ones, and look forward to not being “on the road” and traveling for pleasure only.
